A captivating Nova Scotia castle, a true landmark, is once again on the market, this time with an increased price tag. This story is not just about a property, but a journey filled with emotion and a unique vision.
When this castle first hit the market in 2024, it captured the hearts of many, including Elaine Knight and her partner Rose. They envisioned transforming this castle into a vibrant community hub, a place where people could gather and create memories. With its 10 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, and a breathtaking view of Bras d'Or Lake, the potential seemed endless.
"The castle is a true landmark. You can't help but turn your head when driving past it on Highway 105. It's a sight to behold," shared Jenessa MacInnis, the Re/Max real estate agent handling the sale.
But fate had other plans. Just a week after purchasing the castle, Rose received devastating news - a leukemia diagnosis. Their retirement dream was abruptly halted, and sadly, Rose never got to return to the castle, passing away in March 2025.
"Rose's passing was a huge loss. We had big plans for the castle, and I wanted to honor her vision," Knight shared in a heartfelt Facebook post.
During this difficult time, Knight continued the renovations, replacing most of the exterior walls, a massive undertaking. Now, she's looking for a business partner to help bring Rose's dream to fruition, or at least, someone who appreciates the castle's charm and potential as much as she does.
"I'm open to conversations. I want to find the right person or partner who can continue what we started," MacInnis added.
If you're an aspiring business owner or simply a lover of unique properties, this castle could be your next adventure. Schedule a showing before January 30th and be a part of this captivating story.
